Today I am going to tell you about my week at the Liverpool Elite Football Academy in England………

I was so exited to start because I have not played on a team for about nine months. When we arrived in Kirkby (which is where the Academy is) we were a bit early so we drove around to look for it. We were driving and we saw this massive red gate that was covered with trees so that you couldn’t look in at all of the fields. We followed the gate and there was one small opening and all you could see were about ten soccer pitches, with perfectly cut grass. Then we arrived at the gate where the security guard said that we can not go in until 9:30 so we waited in the parking lot until we could go in. It was finally 9:30 and some more people had come so we all walked into the indoor stadium. The coaches put us into groups according to our age. I was in group five with eleven and twelve year olds. Our coach told us that he used to play on the Liverpool team and I thought that was really cool. There were about fifteen people in each group so it was a good size. We got out side to the turf and I was so exited to be playing on the turf again.

Each day had a different theme and on the first day it was passing. We did some passing drills and we got to shoot on the net witch was fun. They also do a thing called the academy challenge and they timed us on different skills. We went inside about an hour before lunch and we did a talk about The Liver Pool Way. What we had to do was write words down that described what makes a Liver Pool player. It was really cool to learn about what makes a Liver pool player. For the rest of the afternoon we did a few drills then we had a mini tournament.

The rest of the weak we did the same thing but different themes like dribbling, agility, passing and a few more. I had a lot of fun throughout the week and made lots of friends. At the end of the week a we did a World Cup tournament and my team came in third but only the first place winners got the medals. It was really fun and I had an extraordinary time. They did a ceremony were we got our certificate and then they announced the winner of the academy challenges. It was between me and my friend Mathew. I ended up winning by a few seconds and I walked up and my coach gave me a very nice certificate. Everybody also got a size one soccer ball and bag. The week was very fun and inspiring. I had an amazing time at the LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL ACADEMY.
