Today we are going to a Safari Lodge!!

Night one
Today we arrived late in the night at the safari lodge. So when we got there we had a chose of going on a small game drive or having a snack before dinner. We did the snack because we were not feeling the games drive today. They said to us do not eat to much because there is a big dinner. So we had are snack and then we had some dinner. It was a good dinner. It was like a buffet. After dinner we went to watch the show that they had by the fire. Then we were tired so we went to bed. The beds were nice and so was the room and that was the end of our first night at the safari loge.

Day 2
The next day we woke up at 6:00 am in the morning. We had a snack before we left for the game drive. When we were on the game drive we saw some elephants, vervet monkey, Aardavark, and some zebras. Then when we were driving we got a flat tire!!! So Brad our ranger called his friend and he helped us. While we were stuck we had some hot chocolate and coffee. While we were stuck we saw some giraffes. Then the friend came and we were saved. We also saw some warthogs hippos and some blesbok. Then we came back and had breakfast.  2 new kids came to the reserve and we played with them until lunch time.

Then we went on one more game drive.  We do a sunrise game drive and a sunset game drive.  On the night game drive we saw some black WildeBeest, Eland, Impala, Waterbuck, Red Hartebeest, springbok, Eqyptian geese, black shoulder kite, Ostrich. When we came back we had dinner and then we played a bit more with the boys. After we went to bed in our heated beds.

Day 3
Today we also got woke up at 6:00 am in the morning. We had a small snack so we did not fill up. This time on the game drive I got to sit in the front with Brad. This game drive was awesome because we saw Zebras, Impalas, Eland, baby Elephant it was just born hours ago that was amazing to see. It was still not walking on its feet right. We also saw some Cheatahs that just had a kill and we got to see them eat it. That was pretty cool. Then we saw lions playing and jumping on their mom. Then we also saw some rhinos. We got to see a baby as well. There were a lot of baby animals, elephant, rhino, lions, cheetahs and zebras. Then we came back and had some more breakfast. 2 more kids came that day as well. They were from canada to. We had lunch all together. Then we did some paintings of masks and a drum lesson.
After the drum lesson me and my friend did some more paintings and made na art gallery with donashons to stop rhino poaching. It is a big problem in Africa and the rangers have to do rhino poaching watch every night.

We went on the last drive for the night and we saw some more lions, giraffes, warthogs and some red hartebeest. Then we had that great dinner with dessert again. After that we went to watch the show by the fire. When it was over we atched the stars for a bit and then went to bed.

Day 4
We are leaving today 🙁 But Brad said that we still get to go on the morning game drive!!! It was raining so we did not see that many animals. They like to hide in the rain. But we still did see the Zebra, Impala, Eland, Hippo. Brad brought us right to the check out spot and the staff had packed up a hole bag of food for us. When we left we were going to Addo. We are doing a self drive through it. When we were coming out because we forgot something this guy who works there asks us to buy some sardines for him. So we went to the store and got some for him and then we carried on. We saw some Elephants, Kudo, Warthog, Zebra, Giraffe and the best was the Buffalo. But when we were with the elephants they were on the side of the road and then there was a family of 100 elephants and they were having a bath in the water so that was crazy. And 50 of them were on the road just walking down the road in the middle of it and we were right behind them with some other elephants right behind us it was crazy. Well that was our time at the safari loge and Addo park!!!!!

The safari trip would be so exciting. To see the herd of elephants must have been amazing. I think I would have been a little nervous when the truck got a flat tire.

Sweet Vea, what a great Vlog! I had to look up some of those animals as I have never heard of them! I have been learning a lot about the poaching in South Africa – especially the Rhino horns and Elephant tusks! This is so very sad! I love that you took an active role to make a statement about this and even collect donations! Maybe you can continue that when you come home and I will donate to your fundraiser! Your adventures are so amazing and you will never forget this incredible year! Thanks for sharing with us all! Love you much! XOXO

Amazing adventure Vea! You saw so many animals on your safari. I could almost image I was there! One interesting thing you wrote about that wants me to ask, Why are the beds heated? You are in Africa, isn’t it hot there?

Take care and write another Vlog soon,
    Marcia 🙂

Vea I can just picture the look on your face seeing all those elephants in front of your vehicle you were travelling in and looking behind and seeing even more elephants – what a sight that must have been. You too are quite the story teller, great descriptions of your African Safari.
