I want to tell you about a school we went to in Bali. It is called The green school and it is all made out of bamboo.
It is the largest bamboo building in the world. It is so beautiful. Everything in the entire school is made out of bamboo. The class rooms have no walls but sometimes they made a huge bubble for the class room walls. They also do not have the same shape of desks as ours back at home. They think it is better for the students not having square desks. They also have to go bare foot in the school.
Kids come to the green school from all over the world but 20 present has to be Balinese kids and they give out scolerships to the people who can not afford to go there.
Kids learn how to be green leaders. Their white boards are made out of recycled car windows. To keep their grass short they do not use a lone mower they use a cow to cut the grass. They have their own gardens that feed everyone at lunch time. They also have a bamboo jungle in the school that you can walk through. They use lava rocks for the path ways. They don’t want to use pavement that has chemicals in it. They are trying to use as much green energy as possible here. They are use a lot of solar power and a cool water vortex to make that electricity.
They also have mud fights in the rice fields!
It was pretty cool to see a school made out of bamboo. I wish that I could go to that school if I lived in Bali but I love our school back at home.
So that is the green school that was very cool to see in Bali. That is it 4 now.
