Today we went to Wai-O-Tapu.
Wai-O-Tapu is between Rotorua and Taupo. It Is called Wai-O-Tapu thermal wonderland, but Maori people native to New Zealand call it the ‘sacred waters’.

Mineral deposits create amazing colours in the thermal pools
The pool that I like the best is called devils bath. The cool thing about it is that it has green water and it smelt really bad, but it was really hot. It smelled like rotten eggs but it was sulphur. It was boiling water at 100 degrees and what made that was an active volcano. The rocks from a crater are coloured green and yellow.

The ‘Devils Bath’ green water
The green mineral was -Colloidal sulphur/ ferrous salt
The orange – Antimony
Purple – Manganesa oxide
White – Silica
Yellow-primrose – Sulphur
Red-brown – Iron oxide
Black – Sulphur and carbon.

One of the colourful mineral thermal pools at Wai-O-Tapu
When we were walking on the rocks we saw this green thing and it was a Fumerole. They deposit minerals though steam vents. We also saw that there was bubbling mud and it was like pop when you shake it.
There is one person that I know that would love this place and that is my grandpa.
That is it 4 now – Vea

You are so right Vea! Grandpa would love that place. He is very curious .
You are sounding so knowledgable. Grandpa says you know much more than he does about it.
We miss you. Can’t wait for a Hug!
Grandma
Hi Vea,
Fogo here. I got my paws on the IPad, so I thought I would say Hi. My people are snoozing.
I really would like to be there with you guys, and I would really love those smelly pools and bubbly mud.
Well, Bye 4 now. Love Fogo
Hey Vea! I remember how smelly the sulphur pools were and the funny gurgle the mud made when the bubbles popped. Amazing colours, so bright! I’m glad you’re having such a great time in NZ.
Hey Vea the green water looks gross but kind of relaxing at the same time. Did you go in?
That is really cool Vea. You did a great job educating us all!!!!! Love you.
Hi Vea, looks like a good place to take a hot bath! Looks like a neat place to see (and smell!). Keep up the great VLOGS. We miss you guys! Ted
