Hey I wanted to tell you about the Telus Spark science centre in Calgary………… There was a fire exhibit that we went to and this is what happened. The person that was instructing  it started off by taking a flame and put different alcohol on it with different pieces of metal dissolved in it. One turned green,  one was blue and the last was red and orange. The next thing she did was turned off the lights and blew flour into the flame and I could feel the heat, it was like someone blew fire out of there mouth. There was another thing that was cool she lit her hand on fire, she first put here hand in a gas that was flammable then put it into water and lit on fire she did not feel it because the water absorbed the flame so that she did not get burnt, the water was acting like a shield on her hand.

Thats it 4 now from Kai.

Sounds pretty cool Kai, but remember you shouldn’t play with fire, you might get burnt!

    Hi Vea,

We have seen the Frank Slide as well – what a horrific event it was. Were there some survivors? I have forgotten the story. And the museum in Calgary sounds awesome, lots of things to learn about.

Just wanted to let you know Mary Larry is doing fun. She is draped over my right arm as I type this – she likes to be the Supervisor!!
Last night we had friends over for dinner, which included their little doggy, Buddy” – who is notorious for chasing cats! So Reid kept her downstairs out of harms way. They did get to look at each other at one point but Buddy was good, he didn’t leap after her. Looking forward to seeing Bobby home soon, if her flight makes it in to Castlegar tomorrow.
Lots of low cloud in the morning, but afternoons are much better. It has been quite warm during the day, feels like spring!

Enjoy Whistler! It is pretty awesome too. Cheers, Linda
