Hi its Kai just wanted to tell you a bit about Fernie…………..We woke up early in the morning to get first tracks at Fernie. As we got out the door we where so happy because there was about 15cm of fresh snow !! we are only 10 minutes from the Mountain so it was a very quick drive. There was nobody at the Mountain, so we got great parking!! We could not wait to get to the top of the Mountain, the hole time we were on the chairlift all we could see was snow that was not touched!! We finally got to the top and could not believe how much snow there was! As we made our way down to the other chair Vea had probably done at least two face plants in to the snow. We got to the top of the chair and the view was beautiful, I turned my GoPro on and down we went. It was AMAZING!!

Hi Kai,
This is 6Y saying “HI”! The class wants to say ” we hope you are having fun” “Don’t fall off the chair lifts or run into any tres!”

Hey Davide we already went to the hot springs and we are going to whistler then costa rica.
Hey so far I have not run into trees or fell off chairlifts but we got 30cm of fresh snow in Revolstoke and 15cm in Fernie so lots of snow!!
Hi Mrs.Young
I have been doing lots of homework (just kidding) but lots of gym we have been at lake louise all day!!
Hey Justin I did not go to the penguins game but my parents did 🙁
Hey Cameron, having lots of fun, hope your having fun in school:}
Kai,
Now that you are a West Coast snowboarder, you should start using some West Coast words. The correct term for fresh snow. It is referred to as “POW”. It helps if you say it with a bit of smirk and a glint in your eye. Head for the trees to find some fresh pow(or FRESHies) and when someone asks you how it was you say “sweet POW”. Another favorite term for a wipeout or a face plant like your sister did, especially where you may lose your googles and mits (and more dramatic if you are a skier with ski poles) is YARD SALE. It’s lots of fun to watch Yard Sales from the chairlift, especially when there is lots of POW. “That dude totally YARD-SALED in the POW.” People love it when you applaud Yard Sales from the chair. It makes them feel loved.
Super jealously writing this from terribly flat Guelph.
Michael (going POW-Hunting at Louise in March)
louis was rad the face shots where epic, the pow was sweet same with the sick park! Fernie had lots of sweet pow but was also chill! Vea did some rad face plants, about ten! dad has some narly goggles that a dog chewed up. I did some pretty sweet 360s if I say so myself!
Great!! Have fun!!
WOW! The pictures of the snow covered mountains are amazing. Kai, can you post any of your GoPro videos? Love seeing your smiling, getting ‘air’ pictures.
Marcia 🙂
Yes, Kai. Please post your go pro pictures.
Gramps
And get ready for the really hard science question for this week.
Great post Kai… I could almost here the who hoos from here!!! Enjoy your time in Calgary as you get ready for the big time…. Whistler!!! Whoo hoo!!
Sounds awesome Kai. We wish we were with you!!!!!
Hi Kai, We have heard that Fernie is a great ski hill, think we skied there once but was a long time ago. They get lots of snow! What is a
Go Pro? You and Vea look like great snowboarders! Our boys switched from skiing to snowboarding and loved it. Now Greg, our younger son, likes to do back country skiing and Todd likes to x-country ski up Mont Royal in Montreal – it is not far from his house. They are also skateboarders. Love all the great pictures on the blogs! Cheers, Linda
Hi Linda,
we are having a great time! A Go Pro is a water proof camera that we use for snowboarding and surfing!

Hi, Kai. Last time we met you and your Dad came to Florida where you took over as Captain of my boat, Now I’ve got a much bigger boat, I’m sure you would love to command.
Wow! Thought I had seen a lot of the world while in the Army. You guys are putting me to shame. If you get to Ireland, your aunt Leslee would love to see you and I know would show you a good time.
Love to all and be safe
